All Green, Alien-Inspired Creative Shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah

DSC02746_websize.jpg

This shoot was just for fun. No expectations, no clients, no reason other than wanting to get creative with some friends. I flew to Salt Lake City to meet Cara, Blake and Marci. Cara is a visionary and I owe it all to her for dreaming up this shoot. All green, alien inspired, funky, odd and a mohawk. It was freezing but beautiful and we had a great time hanging with the models and getting creative. Shout out to Tenesha and Julia for the hair and makeup too - such talented women.

Creative Head Piece and Floral Body Art

florls-27_websize.jpg

Nicole reached out to me via instagram dm’s with some kind words and offering to model if I ever needed someone. I love the connections that I’ve made on instagram and I was so happy she reached out. That next week, a friend in the wedding industry reached out and told me she’d be in colorado and wanted to do something fun. So I asked Nicole to model and we set up a white sheet in my old dirty garage and got creative. I walked through the wholesaler looking for small intricate flowers with lots of detail to create these pieces. Whipped them up that morning and had a makeshift photo shoot that afternoon.

Freezing Day at an Epic Mountain Lookout in Boulder, Colorado

Boulder, Colorado, Mountain Elopement

I met Jess, the photographer, at a workshop last year and was so stoked when I found out she was coming to Colorado and wanted to do a shoot. I went to the wholesaler the day before and shopped the cooler, being drawn to all the bright colors, and then created a wild bouquet. Lots of texture, wiry greenery and unripened berries. It was so cold that all the flowers ended up freezing, like they were frozen in place. It was so cool.

windy & rainy workshop shoot on the washington coast

I was stoked when Dawn asked me to do the flowers for her Wander Workshop on the Washington coast. I was able to build these ceremony structures with my friend Eli to create a unique ceremony set up. It was a typical winter coast day, rainy & freezing cold, but so much fun.

edgy parking lot shoot

My mom has always been a huge vegetable gardener but when I started this business she decided to have a go at flower farming, which apparently is a lot harder. This spontaneous parking lot shoot was created after driving back from my parent’s house with a bucket of flowers. I had this idea that I wanted to create monochromatic flower designs to be displayed in a way that was unexpected. Not a wedding shoot, not a couples shoot, not a light & happy flower shoot. But an edgy, breaking boundaries, for no particular reason flower shoot. Two badass women covered in flowers in a parking lot. And yes, there are cigarettes involved. Why? Because its unexpected. Because women can smoke a cig once in a blue moon if they want and because flowers can be rebellious and dangerous as well. Let yourself feel whatever you feel when you look at these. Art is about breaking boundaries and evoking emotion, and yes, any emotion is good.

body art studio shoot

This shoot was something I had dreamed about doing for a long time after being inspired by Passion Flower Sue and all of her incredible creations. I am so drawn to the detail work of body art and how endlessly creative it can be. Amanda Dang worked her makeup magic and Marcella Laine took all the photos. My goal for this shoot was to highlight Black women through art & creativity. It’s hard to put into words the energy and empowerment that was felt in this studio during this shoot. Women encouraging women, embracing sexuality, and just so much fucking beauty.

hey darling photography workshop on the oregon coast

Henry and Viet asked me to be the floral vendor for their amazing Hey Darling photography workshop on the Oregon Coast. We stayed in a giant, insanely beautiful air bnb right on the beach, drank tequila, made so many connections and had the absolute best time ever. Daniel & I modeled for the first sunset shoot (bottom photos) with an epic & huge spring inspired bouquet that I made. The next day I made one of my favorite installations out of driftwood that I collected and built on top of each other right on the vast & empty beach. I created a bouquet with half dried, half fresh pieces to accompany the installation and my new friends, Ella & DJ modeled. I HIGHLY encourage all Henry’s Diary fans to go to his workshop, him and Viet are some of the best people ever and they host the most amazing workshop ever.

Featured on Wedding Chicks, we had so much fun designing and shooting this bohemian styled shoot at a local horse ranch. The bouquet is made out of all dried flowers that I had leftover in my studio.

luv collective studio shoot

5D3_7422_websize.jpg

My amazing friends Lilia & Olivia started Luv Collective to bring more wellness and mindfulness into the wedding community. Check them out, it is the coolest company for brides to get support during the planning process. Think tarot card reading, yoga & sound baths for bachelorette parties and conscious vow writing & couples counseling for the engaged couples. Enjoy these beautiful photos in Studio 1020 by the talented Marcella Laine.

floral hair magic

5D3_7566_websize.jpg

This is Karli, one of my bffs from college. She is also an amazing yogi + health coach, has the longest and thickest hair (she is 6ft tall to give you perspective on her hair), speaks her mind and is always down for a good adventure. Marci was shooting their engagement photos so I tagged along to create some floral magic in her hair. I showed up with different colored flowers and no plan. Sometimes just creating as you go is the most fun & rewarding.

Rue De Seine inspired shoot on the beach

Marcella Laine x Rue De Seine-9345_websize (1).jpg

Have you ever seen a Rue De Seine dress? If not, you’re about to and you are going to fall in love. I’m obsessed. This styled shoot was inspired by the power of the divine feminine combined with a bit of spooky & moody & witchy vibes. We woke up early on a foggy spring morning and shot on the beach at golden gardens in Seattle. It was freezing but so so so magical.
